Then….

I have been metalsmithing since 1971. I am primarily self-taught, other than a few soldering lessons and a brief apprenticeship with a goldsmith in Vermont. I worked as a self employed jeweler until 1989, when I made a major life change, and went to nursing school. I worked as a cardiac nurse until last year, when I retired and returned to metalsmithing and jewelry design. I feel like I have come home.

And Now…

I love being in my beautiful studio and working directly in metal with hammer and torch. It is so elemental and satisfying seeing my designs take shape under my hands. I tend toward very simple clean designs that can be worn every day. Nothing makes me happier than someone telling me they still wear something I made for them 30 years ago, and still love it.
